Board of Directors

Michelle Segun – Board

I attended Portland State University where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts & Letters and minors in Business, Communications, Black Studies and Spanish. While at Portland State University, I played volleyball for the Vikings and won many scholastic and athletic awards. I then went on to get my Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.

For the past five years, I have been involved in the marketing campaigns for the Foundation and now will be overseeing the overall direction of Grant writing, SEO, promotions, campaigns, etc. It’s my hope that we’ll continue to provide the great opportunity that this Foundation offers to as many people as we can.

Myron Anderson – Board

I attended Chemeketa Community College and Western Oregon State College (now Western Oregon University) where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and minor in Sociology. I currently work with the Salem-Keizer School District. Besides a short stint in London where I went on a student exchange program and also visited seven countries, I have lived all my life in Salem, OR

I began coaching right after graduation and this quickly turned my “light bulb” on because it made me realize my passion for life – coaching.  Even today, that light bulb has not dimmed one bit. Now after 21 years, I have coached, mentored, and become friends with thousands of kids.

I met Hope Segun in the summer of 2010 at the Hoop in Salem.  It looked like he could use some help at his camp that I took my kids to, so I offered.  He didn’t hesitate, telling me that he would love my help and thanked me.  I was very impressed with his kindness and since then we have worked together mentoring kids and hosting many basketball camps.  He has added to my knowledge and hopefully I have added to his.  I am looking forward to many more years to come of our collaboration. My goal is for the Foundation to grow to allow us to help even more kids than we already are “one at a time.”
